Whether you want to participate, perform or simply sit back and watch, there’s something for everyone at this all-ages Bollywood event. Schedule 3.30pm – 4.15pm: Bollywood Singing Workshop A friendly, accessible singing workshop to introduce you to some popular Bollywood tunes led by Rekha Sawhney. Suitable for all levels of experience. 4.30pm – 5.15pm: Bollywood Dance Workshop A fun-filled Bollywood jazz dance workshop set to one of the latest hits, led by Bollywood peformer and dancer Rohan Shah. Suitable for all levels of dance experience. Come and discover the Bollywood 'star' within you. 5.30pm – 6.30pm: Dance and Song in Bollywood Panel Discussion This talk explores the enduring appeal of Bollywood, focusing on how song and dance are employed both on stage and in film. Speakers include award-winning Kenyan-born British-Indian playwright, producer and theatre director at Phizzical Productions, Samir Bhamra, and member of Shiamak Dance Company and head of operations for Shiamak United Kingdom, Shruti Shah. Chaired by Gauri Sharma Tripathi. 6.30pm – 6.45pm: Dance Performance The Shiamak London Dance Team is defined by its commitment to excellence in performance, sector development and education, all contributing to the evolution and future of Shiamak’s Bollywood jazz and Shiamak-style contemporary in the UK. Under the training and guidance of Shiamak, his four instructors and an extraordinary ensemble of 25 dancers, the company has been enthralling audiences across the UK since 2011.
